For some people, breakfast is their favorite meal of the day.Those who don’t eat breakfast could potentially be doing more harm to their bodies than good. Studies show that there are several important reasons to eat breakfast every single morning, no mater how busy you are and even if you aren’t very hungry.

1. Diabetes

If you skip your breakfast, it could put you at the risk of developing type 2 diabetes as it may lead to chronic insulin resistance. Lot of studies have shown that people who skipped breakfast had higher blood sugar levels during lunch.

2. Weight gain

The fact remains, if you skip the first meal of the day you tend to eat much more for lunch to overcompensate your body. This way you enter the viscous circle of overeating

3. Heart disease 

People who have a healthy breakfast has a much lower risk of heart trouble than the ones who skip it. Skipping breakfast leads to hypertension, obesity, high blood pressure and high cholesterol which slowly and gradually develop into heart diseases.

Skipping breakfast is one of the worst triggers for migraine. So is being dehydrated. Therefore, you must ensure that you walk out of your house only after eating a light meal.

Avoiding breakfast can have a negative impact on your mood and of course your energy.Studies have shown that people who skip breakfast have poor memory skills and high levels of fatigue.

There’s more to mornings than turning off that pesky alarm and getting your body moving — you need to get your brain in gear, too. Luckily, preparing a plate for yourself has been shown to improve cognitive ability. According to a study in Physiology & Behavior, kids who had breakfast every morning performed better that day than those who didn’t. But the ones who performed best weren’t just eating any old meal; they had a nutrient-rich bowl of oatmeal, compared to other participants who had cereal.

7. Heart Disease 

Eating breakfast was associated with a lower incidence of heart disease in men between ages 45 and 82, according to a July study in the journal Circulation. The study also found that skipping breakfast was associated with hypertension, insulin resistance and elevated blood sugar levels.

8. Memory 

A 2005 Journal of the American Dietetic Association review of 47 breakfast-related studies found that eating breakfast is likely to improve cognitive function related to memory and test grades. Translation: Eating breakfast is a smart move!
