BSNL unveils new Chaukka-444 plan, offers 4GB data per day
BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has rolled out its new Chaukka-444 plan that gives users unlimited data for 90 days. The STV is a special promotional offer, which can only be availed by prepaid users. BSNL’s STV- 444 is a follow up to previously launched STV 333 aka Triple ACE plan, which the company claims got a ‘successful response’.
The new Chaukka-444 plan is basically an extension of the BSNL’s previously launched Rs 333 plan which offered 3GB data in a day for the subscribers.
Under the new STV Rs. 444, BSNL prepaid subscribers will get 4GB data per day with a validity of 90 days. However, unlike Reliance Jio’s 4G network, BSNL is 3G-only, so the users will get relatively slower speed as compared to Jio speed. On the other hand, the BSNL recharge is much cheaper than what rivals are offering, Rs 444 pack comes to around Rs. 1.23 per GB, against Jio’s Rs. 11 per GB for the Rs. 309 pack, and Rs. 9 per GB for the Rs. 509 pack.
Telecos in India have resorted to aggressive data pricing due to Reliance Jio’s low-cost data plans. The newcomer, thatunrolled its services on september 1, 2016, has already crossed 108 million user base. Jio’s ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’ plan for its Prime members give 1GB and 2GB data per day at a recharge of Rs 309 and Rs 509 respectively.
Rivals like Airtel and Vodafone have down their data tariffs still. idea recently unveiled a replacement plan that gives70GB of 3G data at Rs 396. Vodafone, on the opposite hand, launched its Ramzan special offer that offers users 25GB data along side unlimited calling at Rs 786 to its customers in select circles.

Catering to its broadband customers, BSNL offers Rs. 249 broadband plan under which users get up to 300GB data per month. The new plan also offers partial free calls during night time. The plan is valid only for new customers.
