HIGHLIGHTS

  • Windows 10 S users have the option to upgrade to Pro for free
  • This offer was valid till December 2017
  • Now, the offer has been extended till March 2018

Microsoft has announced the availability of different colors for its Surface Laptop in 20 more countries.

Microsoft is giving Windows 10 S users a bit more time to decide whether they want to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. The company today announced it’s extending the upgrade promotion until 31 March 2018, three months longer than originally anticipated.

Microsoft is pushing Windows 10 S hard, making it the default OS on its Surface Laptops, as well as promoting it as the OS of choice to compete against Chromebooks in education. Chances are, the company will double down on that push once the deal expires, although it’s going to need more developers to post their software in the Windows Store if Windows 10 S has a chance of succeeding.

Moreover, Microsoft is also introducing the Core i7 Surface Laptop in countries including Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The new Surface Laptop colors are now available to order in these countries :

  • US
  • Canada
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherland
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • UK
  • Taiwan
  • HK
  • China
  • Norway
  • Australia
  • NZ

The free upgrade provide echoes that pass by Microsoft at the launch of Windows 10 itself, that was free for users of selected previous generation Windows operating systems for the primary year of its availability.

The device is compatible with the Surface Pen and Surface Dial. It conjointly supports Windows salutation.

Thankfully, you don’t need to live with this configuration and you’ll be able to upgrade the device with a Core i7 processor, up to 512 GB of storage and up to 16 GB of RAM.
