Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 rumored to be unveiled on September 12, same day as the Apple iPhone 8 event

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has once again been subjected to rumors and it is now said to go official on September 12. The interesting part is that Apple is also expected to unveil the OLED iPhone 8, the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus on the same day as well. Seems like, Xiaomi in its head is clear with plans to steal Apple’s thunder with the second-generation bezel-less smartphone.

Earlier this week, the Mi MIX 2 was reported to clear the mandatory 3C certification in    China confirming its existence and an imminent launch. Reports from China now have a much more specific date for the smartphone, which is supposedly coinciding with Apple’s annual event. On the other hand, Xiaomi’s risk game might backfire if Apple iPhone 8 eclipsed the Mi MIX 2 on the launch day.

Well, taking the news with a proverbial grain of salt, it will not be surprising but may be wiser if the Chinese manufacturer announces its smartphone days ahead of the Apple’s upcoming iPhone announcement. With less than a month to go for the expected official launch, details are expected to surface more often than ever. All said, the Mi MIX 2 is likely to be limited to China market like its predecessor. ALSO READ: Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 official concept design revealed, looks strikingly similar to the Galaxy S8 duo
The rumored Mi MIX 2 surfaced in some serious evidence of existence over the last few months when Mi MIX designer Philippe Starck dropped hints himself. The designer recently posted a video of Mi MIX 2 concept which had even lesser bezels than seen on the Mi MIX. The almost no-bezel smartphone seen in the concept video goes in lines with reports of a follow-up Mi MIX having 93 percent screen-to-body ratio.  The Mi MIX 2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Soc aided by 6GB of RAM. It is said to come in two storage variants- 128 GB and 256 GB. It is further expected to come with 3D Facial recognition for biometric authentication.
